Has anyone used these? I have a Smoothie and I love it for open water and I’m intrigued by Limit Creek’s ice rods. They’re certainly affordable enough and a MN company to boot (yes, I know they’re made in Korea(?)).

At $29 each it wouldn’t be much of a gamble just to buy one of each but just curious if anyone has any experience using them. The new $50 lake trout rod is tempting too, although it’s graphite.

Best value ice rod on the market today, IMHO.

Can hardly go wrong at that price.

Give one a try and report back.

I have a panfish one, for the price it’s great for heavier tungsten, tiny panfish spoons and maybe the smallest hard body lures out there. Might want to add a spring bobber for UL bites and tiny lead lures, I don’t expect it to perform like a noodle rod. They had some pictures on Facebook awhile back of them testing out the new lake trout rod.

I have a set of both walleye rods for wifey & I. Light set up as bobber rig & medium for spoons, jigs, raps, etc.

Very fun, capable rods. Under $30! Great gifts as it’ll increase the number of fish they bring topside.

Limit Creek makes quality rods for affordable price points.

Shout out to Sportsman’s Rack in Rochester. They carry a nice line of these rods for $20/rod.

Thanks all for the input. For the price I think I’ll take the risk and just buy one of each. They make quality rods so I’m sure they’ll be good. Worst case scenario they can be extra setups for friends/fw

I tried one of each and my mileage doesn’t seem to be the same as the rest. I didn’t like them. Handles are too long, skinny and unnecessarily heavy. The action was too slow with little backbone in each rod. The power of each were ok, just didn’t have much for a backbone. Gave my panfish one away and use the walleye rod as a backup bobber rod.

Love their summer rods, it was a disappointment that the ice didn’t work out for me.

I appreciate the input, Eagle. I think I’ll still take the plunge and will report back if I can remember to do so.
