I just wanted to give a thumbs up to Limit Creek for their excellent customer service. They answered all my questions extremely fast and shipped my 6 new rods super fast. Ordering from their website was easy and straightforward. Looking forward to open water!!

Their 5 weight fly rod is as good as any rod out there, for a fraction of the price.

I have one of their ice rods for panfish and its worked great with tungsten jigs. Been eyeing some of their summer rods, the 5’10” light rod for panfish or the Smoothie for an all around walleye rod seem like they would be good.

I didnt even know they made ice rods. I have two of their spinning rods. Another example of a good ice rod that wont break the bank ($27)

I love their open water rods, awesome value with their products. Their ice rods are priced competitive for what they are. They are not your top of the line rod, nor do they advertise they are, but they are built well. I purchased one of each when they first came out. The power of the rods are spot on, but the action is more of a moderate to moderate-fast. I would have liked to have a little more of a transition on the walleye rod for sure. The handle is also very heavy for what it is, and is a touch longer than I’m used to. But like I said, it’s a quality built rod for under $30. They now have a 30″ ML, I might bite and give that one a try next season.

I had a chance to use their 8’3” telescopic rod for slip bobbers last summer and fell in love with them. I ordered 3 of those, 2 Smoothies and a med/casting rod that I’ll use for bottom bouncers. If they fish as well as they look/feel, I’ll be very happy. I paired the Smoothies with size 30 Presidents and size 35’s for the bobber rods.

Their Smoothie (I pair mine with a Pfuegger President) is an awesome rod. Great value for under $100.

We were talking about this in the boat this weekend….the smoothie is the best value on the market in my opinion. I have a couple g loomis glx rods that are awesome but no way they are 3-4x better than the smoothie. Love them for pitching, dragging, and vertical jigging.

I have some smoothies and I have the 8’3″ telescopic rod too. The 8-3 is a dynamite slip cork rod but its also a sleeper for casting fixed floats/jigs for crappies when a lighter line is used and its a super shore casting rod for Lake Superior. I’ll chuck spinners and Krocoldile lures to 1/4 ounce a mile with the rod and six pound mono.

Those 8’3″ rod’s are simply amazing! The smoothie’s blank and eyelets are stellar!

I’ll pile on in support of the Limit Creek rods. I own a couple “Smoothie’s”, the 5’10” extra fast spinning rod, the 8’3″ telescoping spinning rod, and a few of the 6’9″ casting rods. I have been pleased with all of them and wouldn’t hesitate to purchase any of them again.

How would you guys compare The Smoothie to something like a St. Croix Premier or a Fenwick HMG?

Easiest to order through the website….not too many retailers carry them. You pay shipping but get a rod tube out of it.

I don’t have any extremes but I have a couple of eyecons which I think are a few bucks more expensive. No comparison in my book

That good huh?!? Thank you for the reply. Might have to order one. You can’t go wrong at that price if they are as good/better than “higher end” rods.

At the ice show Blue Ribbon bait shop had a booth with some limit creek ice rods, maybe they carry some summer rods in store?

Sounds like I might need to get a smoothie.
The 8’3″ sounds pretty versatile also, shore fishing on superior in the spring or fall has always interested me.

but seriously, the 8’3″ tele rod is amazing. Such great hooking setting power on slip bobs and easy long casts with light slip bob rigs. If you slip bob for walleyes with any frequency you need one. Also great for dragging and getting lines away from the boat.

Completely understand. There are a few places that have them but my guess is inventory is limited this time of year.

First time I used them was with a guide on p4 so I was able to test drive them so to speak. Was sold immediately with not only the quality and feel but also the customer service after I ordered.

I won a 8’3 telescoping L C rod at my favorite seminar and stopped in at my fellow spring valley guy and he exchanged it for a rod I would rather have offered to pay the difference he said no just tell people about limit creek product. as I have told many. he is a great guy and works a lot with kids in fishing. I hope he has some rods at next seminar!!

I’ve always been hesitant to go with their rods because I hear they break a lot. Company stands behind them but sounded like a hassle

I saw on their web site they were in Spring Valley. I’ve been in Spring Valley north of 100 times and never saw them. They in a guys house or out in the industrial park?

There have been other threads on this site on how good a rod the smoothie is and I was thinking of adding another rod this season, so thought I would give it a try. Let you know what I think of it. So far the response has been great, thanks for purchase, shipping rod on this date notice right away.
