I know its a touchy subject but I have new information to share. mrgreen
I used to be a big fan of the Mohawk Valley Limburger spread. My inlaws introduced me to it when I met my wife.
They quit making it years ago and I could never stomach full strength hard Limburger, UNTIL NOW!
Limburger is now only made in one place in the country and that’s Monroe, Wi.
This cheese is great. The texture is firm and smooth and the flavor is not overpowering. It’s basically Limburger light.
I buy mine at Vern’s Cheese and they have a lot of cool cheeses including cheddars form 1-12 years old.
But there are a few places selling the Limburger for the Mfg. Just wanted to pass it along.

Goes great on a “BK” Spam sandwich if you want your space for the next 2-3 hours and nobody under the same roof as you.

Bought my dad a pack of it when I was over in Monroe getting cheese a month ago. He’s opening it for Christmas, mom is looking forward to it. I’m gonna be getting a lump of coal for this move.

The longer you let it age, the better it gets. I got an extra brick of it I’m putting in my wife’s car under the drivers seat, in the name of science. jester

My Grandpa loved that stuff, and my Mom and Aunt made him keep it outside the cabin.

It’s better if you put it in the defroster vents. whistling

This cheese is very similar to blue cheese dressing in strength. Probably a bit lighter.

Was just reading a bit about it. Same bacterium that causes human foot odor is what gives it the yellow “smear” color… Appetizing.

But then again I like muenster so guess I can’t talk…
