Ever wonder how long you’re humminbirds will last?
    I’ve got 3,923 hours on my 1199
    And
3,152 hours on my helix 12.

Keep up the good work humminbird!

How many hours do you have?

That’s a lot of hours! At first glance I thought this was about Hummingbirds. I just bought the nectar mix for my feeders up at the lake yesterday! smile

I gotta get my feeder out – I missed last year. I just do the home made sugar water with no dye. My feeder is brown, but they always seem to find it just fine.

I started a separate thread for hummingbird feeding. Sorry FishBlood didn’t mean for your thread to get hijacked. doah

I am hoping mine last as long as yours! I am in the process of installing one – which turned into a boat renovation project. I am hoping to finish before I get furloughed so I can put some major hours on it. I had an 1159 die recently but I don’t know if I caused it or not. I have it wired to my fuse panel and then to my starting battery. I did notice that at times it would power off when starting the motor due to voltage drop. Is that a common problem or an easy fix? The unit that died went out when I was jumping the boat after having a bad battery last fall. It does power on right now it just has a blank screen – I can only see the backlight. I have tried every way of restarting it I know but I don’t really care now as I have replaced it.

I had over 2000 hours on my 1198 before I sold it to @grubson.

I’ll check tonight and see what it’s up to now. Still working flawlessly btw.

    Nice!

I bought both my units new, at retail prices and with accessories I’ll round it down to $5,000 expense combined.

At a combined hours of 7,105 these birds have cost me $0.70 per hour of use. Not too shabby.

Glad I got out of them what I put into them!

    FBRM,

Interesting post. I would say that is a good value. Can you add in to the equation the amount of fish that have been caught using the Humminbird’s also? My guess it is above 10,000.
