How much falls on the training staff here? There has been a long track record of injury prone players here (as elsewhere I suppose) I have a hard time our top guys Correa, Buxton, and Lewis being injured EVERY year is common with other clubs.
March 17, 2025 at 7:32 am #2324412Lewis is to muscle bound in my opinion. He’s one of these new modern day guys who train year round. He needs to back off and work on flexibility.
Correa seems to be the same issues and I think he and us will need to live with it.
Buxton has been crashing walls and weird stuff. I don’t know that theres anything any training staff can do with him.
I’m more concerned on how long they seem to be out after getting hurt. Are they all slow healers or are the Twins being over protective? A few years ago Miranda was proclaimed as the second coming….nows his time to step up and claim a spot and hold it.

I agree! At the position he plays or should play he certainly doesnt need bulk. Trim down a bit, might increase bat speed, but hopefully that doesnt lead to more oblique injuries. The weird thing about him is his injuries are all over the body right? I believe he has had hamstring, ACL and oblique in the past. Much of that could be because of what you are saying Dutch!

His issue he claims was because he changed shoes. So he changed this offseason, lets hope for the best.

I believe the Twins replaced their entire medical/training staff a year or two ago…it’s on the players imo…Lewis is just injury prone…
March 17, 2025 at 8:22 am #2324423If they would put the Twins on a network that was actual watchable I might care. I haven’t seen a Twins game in years.
March 17, 2025 at 10:14 am #2324456Spring training has to be starting sometime soon? Kinda like if a tree falls in the woods and no one is around….
Pohlads are such bad owners, they couldn’t even sell the team successfully.
March 17, 2025 at 10:21 am #2324460Selling a boat is easy if you underprice it to sell. It gets a bit harder if you price it at market. If you price it at a inflated number you are looking for a sucker.
I’ll let you guess what the bankers were looking for. Unfortunately for them they were trying to land a whale with 2 lb test mono line.

Exactly right Dutch. And I’m sure they aren’t the only ones that have overpriced their team, but they are the only one’s I know of that went public with the team for sale and then never came remotely close to selling it. Heck even Glen Taylor was able to sell the Wolves after a few lawsuits, and I think most regard him as one of the worst sport team owners ever.
March 17, 2025 at 10:43 am #2324472So Carl bought the Twins for $44 million. Twin’s asking price is $1.7 billion, Forbes values them at $1.46 billion.
At Forbes price, that’s a 3218% increase. At Twin’s price, it’s 3764% increase.
I guess for a banking family, every penny counts.March 17, 2025 at 10:44 am #2324474I don’t think it’s possible to be a real bad NBA owner unless you’re a racist. But then I only view the NBA like the WWE. I know there are several owners in MLB much worse than the bankers. But we live here so it’s easy to pick them.
Does anybody here think the Twins are worth the same money as Baltimore? Even the lowly White Sux are a better value although a real sharp ownership group here will have a bigger upside longterm. A White Sux winner in Chicago surrounded by Southern Michigan, Indiana provides a gigantic number of people to draw from. There won’t be a sale for a long time if they don’t get it done soon.Theres another work stoppage looming and this one will be a long drawn out battle that will hurt the sport tremendously.
March 17, 2025 at 11:56 am #2324495They should trade him to Boston. Fixed Ortiz’s injury problems.
Steroids fixed Ortiz.

That and maybe staying away from Tom Kelly.
