Not Wanting to hijack the Free sunglasses post I thought I’d start a new one. I’ve been a lifelong Costa fan and own several pair. But I’ve had several people who have also been lifetime owners tell me they are not what the once were. I’m thinking of picking us a new pair this spring and have heard good things about the Leupold ones. Been a big fan of their scopes for many years. Looking at their web site all there sunglasses have polycardonate lens. I would have thought that leupold being known for their glass that they would at least offer glass lens sunglasses. Anyone here own a pair or at least had a chance to look at and try a pair. Interested in your thoughts.

I just got a pair of their Refuge sunglasses a few weeks ago. So far compared to my old Oakley’s I’m happy. Couldn’t find anywhere to try them on and they showed up on Camofire for $75 so I figured I’d just buy them. Seem to make everything more clear, good lenses, polarized and fit well, wish the nose piece fit better but not a deal breaker for me. Fit and finish is nice along with overall quality, time will tell as I use them more but otherwise I have no complaints after only a couple weeks. Have yet to use them fishing so see how I like them then.

I have a pair of the leupold ones. They are good. Not the best Ive ever worn, or the worst. In the same price range, If you havent, take a look at the magpul ones. By far the best budget sunny’s Ive ever owned. Im on my fifth year with the same pair. Safety rated, Polarized, and super durable.

The leupold live in my wifes car in case we go somewhere with it and the sun comes out, Otherwise its the Magpuls.

I don’t have experience with the leupolds but I tried on my buddies pair of RLVNT Outdoor sunglasses and they were sweet, prolly the best lenses I have looked through. Super clear, polarized, comfortable and you can get them in prescription if need be. Also, if you have a pair of sun glasses you like and aren’t their brand you can send those in and they will put their lenses in them. They make different lenses for different outdoor activities such as hunting, fresh water, hard water, etc. not cheap though. Scheels St. Cloud sells them.
