I wasn’t bashing him,I was just trying to say that this is how he plays and people shouldn’t be surprised about it. I’m more of a casual fan compared to you guys. Not having cable is a real drawback when it comes to watching sports!

I got some tickets from a buddy for Dec. 20th against Nashville, that should be a good game to watch.

Cripes, here we go with the Vanek bashing already. You guys are aware that he’s third in total points right? And he’s a whole one goal behind Koivu and Grandlund. They haven’t found the combination that works best yet and Vanek, like almost ever other player in the NHL is streaky. Very, very few players score goals at an even pace over the whole season and we have exactly none of the ones that do.

Comparing Vanek to Heatly? Really Pug? Even if Vanek continues exactly as is, he’ll finish very close to, or even above Heatly’s BEST points year ever with the Wild. And then it was a sharp downhill from there.

So we brought him in for his assists? I realize he is only really a 20-30 goal a year scorer, but come on. 2 in 24?

I blame the hype more than him. I wasn’t on the bandwagon and I really shouldn’t be surprised. But more over than stat and padding with 2nd assists, I see how he plays. And to that end he is a disappointment in my eyes.

I just wish his streaks of goals were more common than his streaks of no goals.

I’m not a Vanek hater but he was supposed to be such a huge impact on the power play and yet they have the worst pp in the league.

I blame the nonexistent pp for at least 5 losses this year.

I’m sick for f the PP. Every time a player gets a pass they stickhandle for a couple seconds. Praise had the right idea last night when he tried the new timing a pass to Pommer. There was another instance when I think Koivu got a pass and the Canadians over played it, but then he fiddled with the pass.

I actually blame Yeo for the PP problems. That’s what he was run out of Pittsburgh for or at least that us the reason the fans were happy to see him go.

Now there is just a huge confidenc3 factor.

I’m not necessarily a Vanek hater, but there is a reason I didn’t buy into the hype.

They were getting booed last night over not scoring on the PP. It’s become a huge Albatross. (not sure how that’s spelled)

One thing I don’t really understand is that we have some kind of goaltending problem. Really? We have 3 #1 goalies. Where’s the problem?

Am I crazy if I say that Bacs has been our mor consistent goalie? shock

You could have stopped more pucks the Kuemper tonight.

Funny, because I came to the keyboard to suggest it is time to go back to Backstrom. Kuemper I still think is the future, but he is still extremely inconsistent.

Blah. Bad loss in my opinion. Decent effort, bad goaltending = concerned fan. This could be the start of another skid. I don’t like the way this ended. I have a bad feeling.

17 or 18 shots on goal and still scoring 4 at home should get you a win at home. Glad i didn’t shell out hard earned cash to sit through that game.

At least Vanek is making good on his request. He plays like this the rest of the way I’ll be happy.

I liked Coyle, Nino and Haula early.

I was genuinely scared there for a moment looking at Ballard.

They better just play balls out the rest of the way.

    Bryz signed with Anaheim!

Too bad they keep going down 4-0, 3-0, 3-0 at home. Not going to win any games doing that. Can’t wait for the 2nd period to wake up.

I’m shocked. I know they were pressing, but even before that 4th Isles goal, I didn’t think they had it in them.

Scandella had a rough night. The way he has stepped it up this year he is allowed.

Still don’t understand how people rag on Koivu. He played a huge part tonight. More than what will show up on the stat sheet.

Great comeback. I guess a win is a win. I’ll take that any night. I just hope they can keep it up.

Anyone heard anything about Harding lately?

Me too. Considering his role now, he’s playing above his expectations.

No way! Besides the obvious reasons to move, I have way more natural areas and fishable bodies of water in proximity to where I live.

Not that it wasn’t a great win against the Islanders, but first things first. What the heck needs to be done to get the Wild out of bed and PLAYING in the first period?

I was at the game vs the Ducks and the first period the Wild were just sleepwalking. Yes, Darcy was in goal but it was pretty dang tough to blame him for all 4 goals in the first period.

Same thing with last night. No idea what the heck is happening, it’s like the Wild are having a giant turkey team dinner before the game and everybody’s in a food coma in first period.

Koivu wins 22 faceoffs last night, scores a goal. Vanek scores and has an assist. Haula scores. Oh, and the Wild score on the freaking power play for the second game in a row!

Now if they could just stop doing it all the hard way.

I heard on the radio Ballards injury could be career ending? Thoughts?

Career ending? That’s the first I heard of that, but it was scary. Ok, just read Russo’s blog.

All I got to say is when you have had a concussion or two and then you get knocked out and start convulsing, you at least need to take a serious look at your future.

Just found this. Martin appears to launch himself at a guy in a vulnerable position. Ballard turning may have made it worse, but from that angle I have a hard time with the league not doing anything. From where he was if he doesn’t turn, IMO he’s still likely to get hurt. Maybe not as bad. Then again maybe worse.
