LOL, I was just going to post that. I shouldn’t have mentioned it. Maybe it is more of a jinx than a curse? Never mention the curse again!

Let’s just hope Backstrom is back to some form. Kuemper is still a season away from being solid I think.

So what do ya think? PP is the reason they lost?

I say absolutely? 3rd game you can blame on the PP.

Yes and no. I mean, you score 4 goals and give up 20 shots, you should win regardless of how you get those 4, but 5,6,7 goals pretty much guarantee it. And with that much PP time, you should score at least a couple.

I didn’t watch, but do you think over confidence led to complacency? I mean you’ve shut down just about every team you faced and lead 4-0 going into the 3rd. How do you lose?

They lead 3-0 but yes. Confidence lead to complacency. Also, as I said before, if you aren’t afraid to take a penalty, you take some liberties and take some chances.

This is going to cost them til they get it figured out. It hurts more than just a goal or two a game. There more non-tangible effects at work here.

But explain this to me, if it is 5 on 5 goals for/goals against ratio, how can everyone be a + rating? Shouldn’t there be some -X.X numbers???

    .
It’s a ratio… think of it as goals for [divided by] goals against. Basically, any number below 1 is “negative” relating to this statistic… more goals against than goals for.

There have been some great goals from both sides during this game. It looks like most of them have come from the defense not tying their man up in front of the net.

On a side note, I found a pair of Kuemper’s pads on ebay. Too bad they are $800, I think they would make me a better men’s league goalie. -)

Never mind that they would come up to your chin. I think he’s 6’5″.

I’m thinking mike is staying away til the buzzer goes.

Nope been here the whole time. But there is a lag, so I have been avoiding this topic. Now I am all caught up. See you after the game.

bigill, they are the same size I wear, 37 +1. Because of the nhl rules I dont think he can go bigger. I don’t remember the exact rule but believe it has something to do with square inches of pad.

That’s pretty cool. They’d come up to my armpits. I wear 34+1. Would like to get into +2 next time.

Friggen goalies. Shouldn’t you guys be out buying the boys some beer. We’re thirsty.

That was a nice answer. They could have folded, especially after last night, but showed good resilience.

They are deep. There is something we could not have said even last year and certainly not in the 13 preceding years.

My fantasy team is doing pretty good tonight. I picked up a guy on a whim yesterday and he goes out and gets a hattrick tonight.

How good will this defense be going forward? They are solid and Spurgeon, Brodin, Scandella and Dumba still have their better hockey ahead of them.
