I think this game hinges on how doobs plays. Certainly expecting a better game out of the blues so doobs has to stand tall.

How come every single national media outlet only talks about what the blues are doing wrong and nothing about what the wild are doing right. It’s as if the blues are responsible for the wild success.
April 22, 2015 at 10:25 pm #1537014Oh well, back to square one. Best of 3. Got to love playoff hockey.
I think the most surprising thing is no OT or games down to the wire. I think that just changed. I predict 2 or 3 1 goal games in a row.
April 23, 2015 at 6:32 am #1537032The blues looked like a different team. Doobs looked like a different goalie.
I think it’s going to be really tough from here on out.

April 23, 2015 at 7:24 am #1537044That’ll give the Blues enough momentum to fuel the plane back to St. Louis.

Same here. The blue’s finally decided to skate and they looked sharp. Wild not so much. another late one Friday lets hope the wild bounce back we need to take one on the road now and not wait to game 7.

April 24, 2015 at 2:01 pm #1537584Saw Doug Woog at Fort Myers beach. I’m Hoping it is a food sign.

April 24, 2015 at 10:31 pm #1537797Looks like they’re back on track! Great second period. Cooke is looking good.
deertrackerPosts: 9237April 24, 2015 at 11:28 pm #1537810. I guess we wanted to finish the series at home. Doobs was solid again.
DTApril 25, 2015 at 6:31 am #1537833Doobs is our ticket to the cup. Just like any team, goaltending is key in the payoffs.
You saw it in game 4 and game 5.
Doooooooob!
fishdalePosts: 406April 25, 2015 at 8:49 am #1537847Doobs was on his game tonight!!!!
Great game. Wild get out shot 37 – 19 and win 4-1. Hope this carries over to Sunday. Would love to see them close it out and not have to make the trip back to St Louis.
Doooooooob!
April 25, 2015 at 9:40 am #1537855OK, well that should show the Wild that the way to win is to play the Wild’s game, not somebody else’s. In G4 it looked like they were trying to play some kind of full-throttle, finish-them-off-quick style of game and obviously it backfired.
Totally different story last night. Again, jam them up in the neutral zone, deny the middle and the goalfront presence, watch the back door.
SOGs don’t tell the story with the Blues because they are over-reliant on the big blast from high up after the diagonal feed and then picking up garbage goals or quick bing-bing touch passes in the resulting chaos. Deny them clean possession so they can’t get the puck high up cleanly and block shots and they don’t have a Plan B as we saw last night.
St. Louis is really slow, lumbering, and one dimensional. Flip over to one of the other playoff games and watch for comparison.
The Wild need 1 out of 2. There’s no reason to drag this out beyond G6! Let’s finish the Blues at home and seend Ott and Backass packing.

April 25, 2015 at 11:22 am #1537865Ott is such a douchebag….. I can’t help but think back to Churla and Mcrae… they would have beat his a55 until he looked like a wet sock on the ice. He can’t even be a real goon… he is too big of a douche.
deertrackerPosts: 9237deertrackerPosts: 9237deertrackerPosts: 9237April 26, 2015 at 5:19 pm #1538162Great win. They beat a great team. This the their first series win in less than 7 games.
Now for the matchup I’ve been waiting for. Finally time for some redemption against the Hawks!
April 26, 2015 at 7:06 pm #1538191I’ve been horrible at predicting things. I said the last 2 or 3 games this series were going to be close.
Funny how there is always a part of me that feels bad for the other team and their fans. 3 straight first round knockouts. I mean, you got to feel for Allen.
This series should be a good one. May actually see some OT games.
April 26, 2015 at 7:08 pm #1538193Did you see ott during the handshakes? He seemed to be taking his time congratulating guys. That’s cool. I hate players who sulk.
April 27, 2015 at 12:43 pm #1538457Just watched a second video of the hand shake and Ott seems to be the most gracious of all of them. First of all there is a gap between him and Oshie who was ahead of him breezing through the line. He could have started later, or was actually taking his time. He looked every player in the eye from what I saw and gave them a good hand shake.
Contrast that to Backes who barely acknowledged the Wild and instead focused on the Blues and missed opportunities in the post game. Usually guys give credit to the other team even in a loss.
That being said, I don’t blame Backes, but its a difference from him to the guy we hated. I’d probably be a pouter.
fishdalePosts: 406April 27, 2015 at 1:11 pm #1538466Was putting in the dock at the cabin so I missed the game sounds like it was a good one to watch.
Did they publish a schedule for the next series yet? Looking forward to that series a lot.
April 27, 2015 at 2:20 pm #1538505Winning in 6 was a big step for these guys….next is beating the monkey off our back (aka – the Chicago Blackhawks)…. if they can get past the Hawks, then i’m ready to pencil them in the finals against the Rangers… so nice to see the Team and Doobs bounce back from the game 4 debacle… This team is really growing before our eyes, cementing themselves as a contender for years to come..
The next 2 weeks should be a blast!
roosterrousterInactiveThe "IGH"...Posts: 2092April 27, 2015 at 2:49 pm #1538509OK, we made a decent game out of playing for a bad team, so hopefully that eases the snake bitten feeling for a while.
Honestly, the goaltending situation is one that I can’t say there was an easy way to foresee it or get out of it. So adding Dubnyk was probably one of the best moves available for what we want to give up at this point.
I agree with Pug, the D looked much cleaner and more organized last night. We need players like Dumba to find his full-time pro game and turn into a producer the way he did last night.
Let’s hope they can use this streak of easier games to get the ball rolling again.
Oh, and Yeo still must go.

I went back into the archives of this thread just to see what people were saying. Thank goodness this guy wasn’t the GM. Fans that are bandwagon jumpers tend to say these sort of things. It’s OK, us true fans will let you back on (until you jump off again next year…) RR
