Feels great to be on the right side of some puck luck for once. After all those posts in the 3rd I figured we would take them in the shootout.

That may have been the craziest 4-5 minutes of hockey I have ever witnessed. Certainly at the top of 4-5 minutes without a goal.
They dinged the post 3 times and had us scrambling. Then we go right down with Dumba coming out of the box and hem them in their zone. When play is finally stopped, I don’t think I have ever seen this, 2 Sens hug as if they scored because they are so elated that they got the stoppage without giving up a goal.
March 4, 2015 at 11:10 am #1519485Completely crazy game. It looked to me like the Wild were a little scrambled and hopefully they settle back down after all this line switcheroo due to the recent trades.
I have to look on IHeartRadio or somewhere and see if the Jets game is on tonight. I don’t get out of market games on sat, but it’ll be killing me not to know if the Sens get back on track and knock them off.
The bungled D-zone pass that lead to the second Sens goal is a great example of something that the Wild need to crack down on. Mistakes kill.
Anybody going to the Wild/Avs game on Sunday? Man, I want to see a couple of Avs get whacked. McFaceoff and Skog better have their heads on a swivel because they’ll be getting pounded at every legal opportunity.

Here it is… @ 2:15 Bobby Ryan and Karlsson hug it out, good stuff.
I really think Dumba is the most talented guy on the team, he’s got the potential to be a very special player if he keeps progressing like he has been this season.
March 4, 2015 at 11:55 am #1519518That’s hilarious. Watching it again without the sound it looks like a video game. You can just see the Sens just leaning on their sticks and just standing on their skates drifting.
March 4, 2015 at 12:00 pm #1519522What’s crazy is that it was only 2 minutes of action, but felt like 4-5 minutes…it’s so nice to hear good announcers describe that play vs our Chuckles and LaPanda….
March 4, 2015 at 12:02 pm #1519525Pre game had Zucker on talking. Sounds like he is ahead of schedule with his rehab. It would be awesome to get him back right before the playoffs.

Pro Hockey team with high school announcers? Is that what you are saying? If so you are 1/2 right, LaPanta would do OK in high school and I’m sure that after 5 or 6 years of squirts the other guy could do high school also.
March 4, 2015 at 12:38 pm #1519550Absolutely WILD!!! That 3 poster was nuts! I agree the Dumpster could be a special one. Kiouv’s backhand shot is the only one in the rack for him, but it is a good one. I was surprised they didn’t put the Dumpster out there after the game he had.

Ha! I was watching the score on the web last night. 3-1. Take that, Jets! Awesome.

Yeah, it was only -3 this morning too, so it’s not even cold here anymore.

March 5, 2015 at 11:03 am #1520030Another battle of my fantasy hockey shut out kings tonight. Doobs vs Holtby.
If the Wild take any penalties, it will be interesting to see if their Hot PK unit can shut down Ovechkin. I think it was last year he lit us up for 2 PP goals. Both were cross ice passes to the top of the circle. Since then I have seen him bury that shot on the PP a lot. It reminds me of Koivu’s backhand shootout move in that you know it coming, yet they still score. Ovi has a knack for that one timer.

Our company contracts out to the Feds. That’s as close as I want to get.
March 5, 2015 at 1:25 pm #1520149Here’s the NHL app’s “At the Rink” pregame. I love being in flyover country.
ARLINGTON, Va. — Washington Capitals captain Alex Ovechkin is a game-time decision Thursday against the Minnesota Wild with a lower-body injury.
Coach Barry Trotz excused Ovechkin from Washington’s morning skate, saying that his playing status will be determined before the game.
“We’ve got a couple guys who are sort of banged up right now a little bit, and we’ve got a couple guys that are sort of in that warm-up mode,” Trotz said. “We’ll see after warm-ups.”
Ovechkin leads the NHL with 43 goals, having scored 16 in 19 games since the All-Star break, and is tied with linemate Nicklas Backstrom for the League lead in points with 67.
The Capitals recalled forward Andre Burakovsky on an emergency basis as insurance. If Ovechkin cannot play, then Burakovsky will likely replace him on the Capitals first line with Backstrom and Marcus Johansson.
Washington is 13-10-2 during Ovechkin’s 10-year career when he is not in the lineup.
The Capitals open a season-long five-game gomestand against the Wild, whose 16-3-2 record since the All-Star break is the best in the NHL. Minnesota has won four straight road games, its longest streak since March 2013.
Here are the projected lineups:
WILD
Sean Bergenheim – Mikko Koivu – Chris Stewart
Zach Parise – Mikael Granlund – Jason Pominville
Nino Niederreiter – Charlie Coyle – Thomas Vanek
Erik Haula – Kyle Brodziak– Justin FontaineRyan Suter – Jonas Brodin
Nate Prosser – Matt Dumba
Jordan Leopold – Christian FolinDevan Dubnyk
Darcy KuemperMarch 5, 2015 at 2:06 pm #1520169The Wild have some really key games in March. Caps, Ducks, Blues, etc. It’s get-r-done time.
IMO, we need two things.
The big guns need to get back on the board. Things have been a little quiet from the #1 and #2 lines lately. Nice as it is to have Dumba do all the scoring, it’d be nice to see the big guns find the back of the net a couple of times tonight.
Second, the 4th line needs to keep it rockin. That Haula, Fontaine, Brodz line is a real difference-maker for the Wild. What they did to the Avs and Sens they can do to any team, make the whole 60 minutes dangerous with no coasting. Keep the opponent leaning back because at any time this line could explode, don’t let them off the hook for even a second and it starts to show by the 3rd period.
Let’s go WILD!

March 5, 2015 at 10:13 pm #1520347Great win, even though the Caps were missing Ov, that’s the way it goes.
And just like that, the Wild are one up on the Jets.

March 6, 2015 at 5:44 am #1520375Another win for the Wild.. Now only 4 points from the hawks…. I know its a tough stretch but its possible we could sneek up on them. Two months ago I though the playoffs were out for us and here we are. Rolling like a freight train. Cant wait till sundays game. The X is going to be WILD. Whos all going?? I have a feeling its going to have the playoff atmosphere in there. My 3 and 5 year old boys are more excited then I am.
Wallster ><((((>March 6, 2015 at 8:04 am #1520407That was called “stealing 2 points” last night by the Wild, just crazy that every other team in the hunt also got points last night with shootout wins (except Vancouver)
March 7, 2015 at 8:40 am #1520771I am kind of nervous about tomorrow. The Wild don’t need to get into the shenanigans. They need to keep the momentum going and win. They did a good job of it last time, but the Avs have nothing to lose and we are their nemesis. We eliminated them last year and have cost them what, 8 point this year? They have nothing to lose and we have everything. And Roy has a history of acting like an immature dickhead. I would not put anything passed him.
March 9, 2015 at 9:10 am #1521346Too bad they couldn’t pull off the season sweep of the Avs. While the Wild are on a great roll right now I’m a little concerned that the PP is sliding back to where it was. I think they’re like 2 for the last 30 or something.
March 13, 2015 at 9:32 pm #1523257Mike must be on vacation.
Does anyone else think that Koivu is one of the best players on the ice tonight?
March 14, 2015 at 8:09 am #1523315My brother is in town. Tough loss…from what I remember. I wish they would have played with desperation a little earlier.
March 14, 2015 at 10:13 pm #1523473Awesome bounceback and comeback from being down one goal by the Wild.
Now that’s grit, baby. Blues owned the whole 2nd and it was looking like the Wild had nothing left in the tank. Nobody was more surprised than the Blues when the Wild just found another gear in the third.
Dumba! Yes, he made the misake that cost the Wild last night, but tonight he came roaring back. He freaking punished Teresenko with a sweet open ice hit. I think Teresenko thought he was going to just run Dumba over and instead Dumba put him on his ass. Sweet.
Dubnyk was just terrific. He robbed them. He denied them. He did it all.
The Wild just do not go away. Tremendous win and terrific grit.

March 15, 2015 at 2:13 pm #1523555Sure would be nice to see the Wild on a NBC Sunday afternoon game, It’s like the Red Wing channel.
I’ll go ahead and say it now.
The Wild win the Stanley Cup this year.
