My son bought his first vehicle, unfortunately, he does not want the topper on it. It’s a 2014 Chevrolet with a 6.5′ box. Leer model 100R 66GS14. Red is the color. Fiberglass. Side windows with screens. The back plastic is cracked, otherwise nice shape. I would keep it if I had a longer box. $800

    Well, he is 15. Lol.
I told him he will regret selling it. I would love to keep it but, I am not in the market for a pickup to put under it.

Brandyman, what neck of the woods in West Central MN are you in? I have a 2017 and have a topper on it already but this looks slightly nicer than what I have today…

Glenn used to carry a mattress in his truck bed back in the day.. that’s why he likes the topper!!!

Would be all over this if it was the 5 & 3/4 bed length. Good luck with sale!

Dang I have an 08. Anyone know how much difference there is between the 07-13 and 14 and up body styles when it comes to toppers?

I doubt that would work on an 08. That is at least 2 body style changes from a 14. It might be close. Get some measurements and ask the seller to do the same.

I found a website that lists what the topper fits. Looks like 2014-2018 1/2 ton “standard” bed and 2015-2018 3/4 and one ton ‘standard” bed silverado and Sierra.

    If it’s a 6.5 it won’t fit a half ton short bed.

I’d be all over this if it was black!

I stand corrected. It’s called a standard bed 6′ 7″ long. Apparently gm had 3 bed lengths to choose from.

There are only 2 beds available in half tons. The 5 and change foot box and the standard bed which is 6.5. you have to get an hd to get an 8 footer.

I will probably have a hard time making it to that neck of the woods anytime soon brandyman but if I can make it that way I will reach out.

Once he hits 30, has a few kids and dogs to haul around, he might shift his topper mindset LOL. But it’s good to let him make these decisions and learn from them, it builds character IMO

More importantly, make sure those oil change intervals are 3k miles on that 2014 Chevy, 5k max. I learned, and I’m back to 3k on these newer engines. My 2010 loved 7500 mile changes but these new engines are sensitive to junk. A whole case of PF63 oil filters is pretty cheap on Rockauto. Kirkland oil is nice for the price.

Thats cool CBMN. It’s heavy too!

It’s the newest vehicle at our place!
I usually don’t let any of them get more than 5k. With synthetic oil and name brand filter by the way.
Yes the oil gets “cooked” and all the additives break down and do damage to cam bearings and lifters if you wait too long.

I’m more surprised by the fact that he’s 15 and already bought his own truck. Kid must have been taught well and bustin his butt stackin $$

He basically worked full time this summer. Then still works on the farm after school and on weekends. His pickup is worth more than mine!
