Heading up to Leech off Pine Point this week and I know walleye’s are going to be typically slow, but my wife and I love fishing for big Pike or numbers any thoughts in Pine Point area?

    Thanks much!

More Mid Sept. info but we normally catch a decent amout of Pike and some rather large ones trolling or casting the edges all along steamboat bay as well as the Narrows leading from there into the big lake. Nothing special for baits. Rapala’s, rattletraps. spinnerbaits all seem to catch fish

Heading out of pine point I’d have 2 suggestions –
    1. Off the Southeast shore of pine point, between Adventure North and the tip of the point is a triangular shelf that comes off the point. Trolling shadraps along the edges of that structure is often productive for northerns (can often pick up an eater eye or two there as well).

    2. If you are good with a bit of a boat ride, the shoreline from ottertail to Duck point as well as the eastern shore north of ottertail are generally *very* productive for northerns (including some decent sizes).
