Anyone have any recent Info. on the fall Perch bite on Leech? Myself and several friends are heading up in a little more than week from now. Was hoping to hear some recent Info. to help get me excited. I’m hoping this fall is better than last year was. Last fall was the worst trip we’ve had in the 8 or so years that we’ve been going up their in the fall. Sure would be nice to see some of those True Jumbo ( 11-13″ ) perch to show back up.

Two weeks ago, when we had some cool nights we were getting some nice Perch in 6-8 f.o.w. When the water temps rose they dispersed again. With cool nights in the forecast, i’m sure it will be game on again. Small golden shiners are my favorite for the big girls.

I found some good ones yesterday in some of the close by bays. Still not a lot of them but enough to keep busy with. Hopefully these cooler days stay, and according to the journal it looks like we are about a week out for them to really start biting. Little rainbows, or smaller goldies work very well below a slip bobber for me.

Our crew will be up next week, going to chase the perch in Portage bay. Are you guys seeing any crappie yet? I’m hoping that the eyes are cooperating outside the weed lines for some trolling or casting jigs

I have heard of some Crappies going and had some guests come in with a nice basket out of a bay near Walker. I also heard of some of the smaller lakes starting to kick out some crappie as well. I have been on the big lake only chasing walleye and perch.

One more shot at any updated recent Info. Heading up in the early AM tomorrow. It looks like mother nature is at least going to be good to us. Winds are manageable, Not to hot, not tool cool. Looking forward to 4-5 days of fishing. Hope to be setting the hook on the 1st on many fish by 9am or so tomorrow.

If you cast a #6 Rippin’ Rap in 5 f.o.w., eventually some better Perch will find it…among other things. 3 keepers on 3 casts!

The cooler nights forecast should push even more fish shallow.
