Finally got my ice fishing season started on Leech. Put houses out on Christmas day and had 3 rented for the weekend. I set up on the north end of walker bay and set houses with wheeler on 12” of ice. 2 of the 3 houses did well with decent numbers of walleyes caught along with some jumbos. Prime times were best but a few fish thru out the day and night as well. We are set up in 12ft to 14ft at this time. This type of depth on Leech can be fun watching the action below. I got reports of big Muskie sightings, walleyes, perch and terroristic pike. As of today I am driving on the ice with 13” and getting thicker as I type. No snow and cold temps should make for strong ice this season. There are some heaves to be aware of on the north end of walker bay. They are visible for the most part but you have to pay attention.
