I am heading to leech lake this weekend for the first time ever. Can anyone offer me any advice as to where to launch out of, where to fish, what techniques to use, and what to expect? I would like to start out by fishing for walleyes and later I would love to go for bass and Northerns so an area that offers both opportunities is what I’d prefer. Thanks to anyone who can help and feel free to PM me if you prefer. I really appreciate it. Thanks!

    Where are you staying?

I haven’t been up since opener, but I would start with what worked then. Jig and a minnow or lindy and a leech on rocks under 10 fow on the main lake. Walker Bay should be picking up too, so that would be an option if you are on that side of the lake.

We have a cabin south of Remer so driving there to fish Saturday. Thinking about goose island for walleye and walker narrows for bass and pike?

always had the best luck there during low light periods. good luck. troll a lindy or jig to see if they want something moving if it doesn’t work switch to a bobber and slow presentation

I don’t fish pike or bass on purpose, so no help there. I think Goose is a good starting point. I’d launch at Ericson’s Landing in Walker Bay if that is where you are heading.

Any resorts with launches that won’t be busy with the tournament this weekend?

Last week 1/8 oz. jig and minnow 8 to 10 ft. On rock or sand with wind .05 mph. Got a few on Lindy rig with a leech 5 to 8 pm. Fished Pine Point, Stoney Point, anything with wind. The tournament is this coming weekend.
