    Stihl BR600 (Gas Backpack)
Have had for years and can say if or when it ever dies, I’ll have another within 24 hours.
The best outdoor tool I own.

No battery power for me. I have a gas ryobi 4 stroke and a back pack stihl. . The stihl is the bees knees. The ryobi does the garage and side walks and light work

20v De Walt. Have a BR600 b.pack and handheld Stihl. Only break out the back pack to blow the gravel out of the grass from snowplowing in spring. And Fall leaves, and corn trash from combining behind the house. Battery unit is the nuts for garage and gutters.

Buddy of mine bought a battery blower and lawnmower 4 years ago or so. The batteries are obsolete now and can be found any where. That’s always been my worry about battery power. I run power tools all day. You wouldn’t believe the amount of batteries we have now that just sit there because they change battery styles every 2 years

Who’s changing batteries that often? Milwaukee M18 has been available for 14 years. For lawn equipment Ryobi 40v has been the same since at least 2015, not sure when they were released initially.

All my power tools are dewalt 20V max/XR. I love the leaf blower. I use it a few times a week easily.

My EGo blower and weed whip have been going strong for at least 3 years now. I love having a battery blower. Much more versatile but not meant for extended use events. Since it doesn’t spew a mist of oil I can use it on anything.

If you already own cordless power tools, get the blower from that brand. Milwaukee, DeWalt, Ryobi, etc, they are all good nowadays. For home use, all the big brands make a blower that will work and keeping everything working off of one battery system saves a lot of hassle.

That’s exactly right. I’ve had M18 tools since the year they first came out and at this point there are so many millions of M18 tools out there that the batteries will be available for decades to come. I think all the makers are the same, at the very least they have backward compatable batteries that will make it possible to contine to run old tools almost forever.

If you want to use it for leaves, the Stihl backpacks are the cats meow. I have the BR700. I also have 2 stihl hand operated (gas) blowers for blowing the drive and walk. I’ve had both of these for better than 5 years. They also work very well for smaller cleanup. I like the noise these gas blowers make and so do my neighbors. -)

I run Makita cordless tools. I have a 36v (18×2) cordless blower that is awesome. I also have a 4 stroke Makita backpack for bigger stuff. Both tools are used on my roofs day in and day out. I have 2 gas Stihls, and 1 gas Husqvarna that don’t get used anymore. I should probably sell or give them away.

Milwaukee 18v. Like the 40v ice auger it just starts up and good to go. Compatible with all the other Milwaukee 18v batts. Got mine in a deal where I got another high output 12 amp battery.

The only power tool batteries I have are a 18 v. Ryobi drill and 40 v strike master so will have to buy all new

The 18 V Ryobi leaf blower is pretty good, actually. I have one that I mainly use for grass clippings, but it handles leaves just fine. And it cleans out my garage floor way faster than a shop broom.

I’ve been waiting years for my Echo to fail so I can buy a Dewalt blower. I do zero maintenance on it now in hopes of it failing. Stubborn old thing…

I’ve got a 40v Ryobi (brushed). It’ll blow leaves and clippings on a driveway/sidewalk just fine. For leaves in a lawn the grass needs to be low and the leaves dry. If your doing wet maple leaves forget it. I would recommend some sort of backpack blower or maybe the brushless 40 volt can handle that. We’d really need to know how big a yard, what kind of leaves, etc… your working with to give good recommendations.

You may be able to get by with an 18v Ryobi blower (I’d go brushless) since you already have a battery for it. You can always return it if it’s not enough juice. A gas or a backpack are probably overkill for your needs.

I have gas Stihl at home and Ryobi 18V blower and weed whip for the lake. It’s fairly light duty at the lake so works great.

I’d also add if it’ll mostly be the wife/gf/partner using it she’ll appreciate no gas or cord.

I have a Milwaukee 18v that works well. I never use my Stihl to blow leaves or grass anymore. I just use it in the fall to suck up leaves and sticks.

I was kind of shocked when my son showed me this list of states that have cities or counties that restrict or ban the use of gas leaf blowers.

States that Regulate Gas Powered Leaf Blower Usage:
California, Colorado, Connecticut, Florida, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Oregon, Texas and Washington

If you already have one 18v Ryobi tool I’d grab the leaf blower and call it good. Mine has worked well around the yard and on the roof doing the gutters. Buy the blower pack that comes with a decent battery, that way you’ll have a backup with your drill battery. Battery life is my only complaint on mine. It’s strong enough to do most work, but it will drain surprisingly fast.

I swear, half my neighbors have 110 corded blowers. Watching them clean gutters with 200′ of drop cords. Is like watching someone get up to change the channel on a TV, without a remote.

Craftsman 20V series. Same batteries fit all my power tools from drills to blowers, vacuums you name it, they probably have it or will in the near future.
Oh and a plus with the leaf blower is that it doesn’t P off the entire neighborhood when you turn it on.
