On his last day in office President Obama signed an order banning lead ammo and fishing tackle on all Federal lands and waters.

I am wondering whether this will include the Mississippi River.

WASHINGTON, DC, January 23, 2017 (ENS) – On the last full day of the Obama administration, January 19, the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service issued an order phasing out the use of lead ammunition and fishing tackle on national wildlife refuges by the year 2022.

If it is not a ban them what is it? Google it, lots of news outlets are referring to it as a ban.

Can you imagine the cost to reload 1000 rounds of prairie rat ammo with Barnes bullets??? Holy crap.

I really like the time lines that are spelled out in the order…. pretty clear and precise doah whistling jester (considering the source)

Require the use of nontoxic ammunition and fishing tackle to the fullest extent practicable for all activities on Service lands, waters, and facilities by January 2022

To ensure the public experiences a consistent approach to nontoxic ammunition and fishing tackle requirements, over the next 24 months…… (2019)

If we do not amend, supersede, or revoke it, the provisions of this Order will terminate on July 31, 2018.

Please read the “Purpose” of that order very carefully. We really need to slow down on these matters and use common sense. The way we are heading everyone is going to be fighting over “EXECUTIVE ORDERS” which have limited authority. Please look at that order and read very carefully. What does it really say ??
