Lead Core for Lake Trout with spoons

    I posted this question last year and can not seem to find the answer.
    How much lead core did IDO run on the lake trout show to and how deep can they get with spoons for lakers? I want to try this technique in Canada next spring and summer.

    I can tell you that I’ve been able to reach 75-80 using 10 colors of the suffix advanced leadcore. My speed was about 2.0 mph give or take for slight current as I do not have a probe.

    It is also really effective to add 2-6 oz snap weights to get more depth. I’d say with 10 colors and a 4 oz snap weight I was running around 100′.

    This is all with the suffix advanced leadcore. Other brands are going to be much less depth.

    How much backer are you running out after the lc, Blugill?
