So they don’t make them anymore? Were they bought out or what? Anyone no the story, I can’t find anything on the internet.

It’s probably my all time favorite lure for many reasons.

Don’t talk to me about Flatfish, they aren’t the same.

I think I still have a yellow Ike in laying around somewhere.

I believe I have a bunch Pug. I’ll look this weekend. If I find them I’ll post a pic. I would sell them for cheap.

No idea on the action, but Luhr-Jensen’s Kwikfish looks very similar.

It’s alright, I’m not really jonesing for some. I think I have one, so I might try it for giggles. I was thinking it would be interesting to use on a flat in salt water.

They still make them. Color selection isn’t much around here.

I love retro plugs and still use them. The Lazy Ike is a very good smallmouth

I went on a retro plug binge in Canada about 3-4 years ago. I used Lazy Ikes, Flatfish, River Runts, and the Pulivorizor.

They all still work! The best results were from trolling Flatfish in a shallow bay. The perfect application for these plugs.

The summer after I graduated from high school (stone ages) a couple buddies on my slow pitch team went out trolling on the a high and muddy Mississippi River, Pool 6, and the one with very little fishing experience one caught an 8 pound walleye on a black Lazy Ike. The other guy said he was hoarding his Bombers (old type) and let the guy the use the Lazy Ike. He was amazed and a little miffed.

Looks like it says “Ike” right on the back of it.

OK, just blew the picture up. Never saw a Ike that color. Saw plenty of Flatfish like that tho.

I just went out and dug into my old metal tackle box with all my old time lures and here they are. Notice you can see the brass insert on the diving lip on the top one. Looks like the bottom orange Ike had one at one time. The others have them, but the paint is intact.
