Hi Thinking of getting a 7 inch Lazer for a back up for cordless drill. Do these bind at the end of the hole catch that is? I have heard the Mora’s cut better with the shaver blades. I had one but had Chinese blades and it never cut returned it. I have a K drill 6 inch now. I thought the 7 would be better up on mill lacs lake for walleyes. My budget is 100 bucks I have the Ice master adapter already. Not interested in the clam plate at all.

From my experience, the lazer does bind right before breakthrough. I also have a mora blue and it does not bind. I have it attached to a m18 fuel/clam plate.

I run the 6″ and 7″ Mora on my Milwaukee Clam Plate set up. I tried the Lazer but like the Mora better. The Mora is smother, cuts fast and doesn’t bind. The replacement blades cost less.

Does the Mora seem to be about as fast with the drill as the laser? No contest but with my back I don’t think can take a bad jerk .

You can solve the binding problem by pulling up the auger to clear ice chips out of the hole right before you think your gonna near punching through the bottom. Clearing ice during drill leaves a cleaner hole after anyhow too. Once you clear the ice chips lower it back down to cut and it will punch through without binding.

My friend and I both have 7″ lazers on clam plates and Dewalt 20v brushless hammer drills. His binds at the bottom of the hole, mine doesn’t. I don’t know if its the way he’s using it or what…..maybe he’s anticipating breaking through and letting off the trigger a little, I don’t know but I just go full speed until I pull it back out of the hole and I’ve had no issues with mine. (I need to try it and see if it binds when I drill with it.)

I use a 6in laser and have no issues with it on a drill. Cuts smooth and like mentioned above raise it to clean out shavings and it doesn’t bind at all.
