Is there any difference in blade configuration from the 8” lazer hand auger and the 8” lazer auger I already own on my 3hp solo? Looking to put auger on dewalt brushless.

Yes. Hand auger blades are not serrated.

I guess I’m not sure why the blade configuration or whether serrated or not would matter in this intended application. Would it?

Seems the question would be if the gas auger drill portion would be interchangeable to use with cordless drill setup. I don’t know?

I thought that Strikemaster auger flightings were interchangeable between hand auger and power auger units.

In the case of Nils, the bits targeted to drill applications are not as aggressive, so they work better for low torque/high speed drilling, as opposed to hand drilling.

If anything, I would assume your power bit would be better for a drill application.

I don’t know if one would consider this part of the “blade configuration” but hand lazer augers do NOT have a centering point. The powered lazer augers are designed WITH a centering point.

The length of the flighting (number of turns up the shaft) is also different between the “hand lazer” and the “powered lazer” auger bits.
Not saying one is better than the other, just pointing out the differences

I guess I should have asked if one was more aggressive than the other. I currently have a 7” mora hand auger that i cut off and put an adapter in that i use for early ice. I have used my gas auger bit before. It does a fine job but don’t want to over stress the drill. And if I could buy a hand auger to help that I would. Also I work in a machine shop so any attachment is easily accomplished. Thanks for the info.
