Yes, Lawnboy was the king of the hillside mowers because the 2 stroke engines didn’t starve for lubrication. They would last forever except if you hit a rock. The lower bearing in the engine does not take kindly to a bent shaft and when the lower bearing goes it’s generally not fixable.
I’ve always loved Lawnboy mowers. The old 2 strokes are just connected with my idea of summer. I have a Lawnboy from 1977. It’s my favorite mower ever. They literally don’t make them like this anymore. 2 stroke, magnesium deck, light as a feather.
Gary is right, electric is worth looking at for your use. In fact, if you bought a good one, this is probably the better option these days if looking to buy new.
I know Husqvarna has a version that is self-propelled and I think I saw it will mow a half acre on a charge. I’d have to think a quality brand electric will last you a long time, probably your best option for a sidehill.
