I need a new one. Anyone have any experience with any of the new LED spotlights? I likely would not consider a rechargeable light. I prefer corded. I’ve always used the 3-4 million candle power Brinkmans. I get about 3-5 years out of one then end up replacing it. I really want one like the barges use but cant afford the $$. The more power the better The price needs to be reasonable, I’m hard on them, and mine tend not to last.

I would be interested in one as well.
I have to laugh at the commercials when they advertise one,ie,
IT CAN BE SEEN UP TO FIVE MILES AWAY !!
well no s!!t sherlock, any light can be seen a long ways away in the dark,I want one that I can see five miles away with lol.I am betting anyone of them with high power led’s in them will work, better than the old ones that used aircraft landing light bulbs in them that you could light a smoke with three feet from it,dang those things were hard on truck seats if you laid it down the wrong way.

You taught me well. “Redundancy is a cartman’s friend”.I have this uncorded, 4 (maybe 6 AA) light for close quarters and for landing fish ect. Lights up both sides of the places I fish well, light weight and relatively inexpensive at under $30.00. No cord to trip over either.
This link shows the light on ebay. I don’t have a clue about the seller.
April 23, 2018 at 1:11 pm #1769910I’m seeing more and more led lights attached to bows. They are illegal to use while running but they do work.
I haven’t found anything better than the old Q Beam. Rugged, inexpensive and most always fixable.
$30.00 @ Amazon and I can carry two, one for back up.
April 23, 2018 at 4:14 pm #1769962Funny…I’ve bypassed the switch on at least two of them over the past 20 years. I didn’t know LED’s were illegal to use while running…nice to know.
April 23, 2018 at 9:00 pm #1770024It’s not that they’re LED that makes them illegal. It’s just illegal to drive a boat with “headlights”.

SO my “GO Light” is not legal?
April 24, 2018 at 6:20 am #1770047I’m not sure what your go light is, but “white” headlights are only allowed for “docking”.

$234?! Yikes!It’s 10 out of 10 as advertised.
I’m sure it’s great, but that’s more than I’d spend on a spotlight, regardless of how nice it is.
May 1, 2018 at 9:42 am #1771691I use a cordless Stanley Fatmax in my duck boat for spotting shoreline in the early mornings. I wanna say it’s over 2,000 lumens. I’ve never ran it out of juice, but I also charge it every evening when I charge my mojo’s.
I’ve got headlights too, but like BK said, be mindful of the legality. I use mine for setting up decoys and VERY rarely will I use it under power.

Couldn’t agree more!
Have two that are seriously twenty years old and get used a ton for fishing and duck hunting. Keep waiting for them to break or stop working, but they just keep on trucking. It’s a way narrower beam and have had a lot of guy’s question their spot light candle power rating after using it.
