Schmidt’s gay was one of the funniest sketches ever.

I can’t imagine watching SNL now. No one could top Chris Farley. It’s probably circling the drain just like all network tv.

You should go watch the “Coupla Beers” sketch by Shane Gillis the other week. SNL still has some good stuff and their political satire is good.

Wasn’t he one of those guys on the Man Show?

Kimmell was hilarious on the man show, that show in general was a hoot. Back when Comedy Central 1st got its start and it seemed like anything went. He also did a great job on Fox Football Pregame as he had a great back n forth with Bradshaw and Jimmy Johnson. That was a long time ago.

Go father back when John Belushi was on it, also Ankroyd, Steve Martin, etc. The list goes on. I believe that was the original cast and that was comedy (most of the time).

Martin was never a cast member.

SNL hit its heyday in the mid to late 90s. Adam Sandler was still funny, Chris Farley, Norm MacDonald, Phil Hartman. Those guys are funnier than the earlier cast. Go to the 2000s and there is not one single name that sticks out as a memorable cast member. That show dropped off a cliff and never recovered. I’m kinda shocked it’s still on the air and people still watch it. I wouldn’t even know how to find it other than youtube.

Great technicality as he may not have been a cast member (I didnt say he was) but he was on it NUMEROUS times, in fact I think he was a host a pile of times.
I remember him as King Tut and the best was Two Wild and Crazy Guys.

Gilda Radner and Dana Carvey made that show funny for me.

I watch reruns of Johnny Carson in YouTube… Since Letterman left it has been bad. Never been big on SNL, but my boys, ages 19&17, both quote Norm Macdonald often. I think they picked it up during covid and watched an OJ documentary and were taken down the Weekend Update rabbit hole of Norm.
