Late Ice Opener

    So, with this late ice that we have and potentially having lakes that could be iced over for the MN opener, is there any chance that the DNR closes fishing on certain lakes on opener due to the late ice? Correct me if I am wrong, but wasn’t there a couple lakes that they closed 3-5 years ago because of the late ice off dates? GO WILD!!!!

    I think they did delay the opener on a few lakes up near the MN-Canada border to protect the spawn.

    I would think that it’s possible again this year.
