Late fall early winter emerald shiners?

I normally trap my winter emerald shiners during late fall in creeks and smaller streams, but with all the rains and high water still on the miss. river I can’t seem to locate them this year. My question is, where should I be looking in streams and creeks?
I use glass minnow traps. I can’t find any info on where to look for winter emerald shiners. Any guidance would be greatly appreciated.
