If it hasntn happened yet how do you know it will be fixed? I hear of these procedures going south every day. TODAY could be the best you ever see again. devil

Exciting! Good luck tomorrow, Ryan! I dream of a day when I can have the courage (and save up the money) to get LASIK. You’ll have to let me know how it goes! I’m sure I would have to have to be drugged or at least strapped down to the table in order to hold still. I’m getting the heeby-jeebies just thinking about the procedure.

I had it done several years ago. It fixed my distance vision but at the expense of my near vision. Before the surgery I could read the printing on a gnats ass, after the surgery I required reading glasses. Maybe this doesn’t happen with everyone but it seems like the corrective procedure is a trade off. I’ve heard that some people now have one eye corrected for distance and one eye corrected for close up.

Good luck! I don’t think I’ll ever get the procedure. Wearing contacts doesn’t bother me that much, but it would be nice to wake up and not have to put them in or throw on my glasses. I hat e glasses more because when they get smudges and smears I get agitated.

I think that’s inevitable as we age, but I’m still young enough that I shouldn’t need cheaters for a while.

True. At this point I have trouble with fine print and trying to tie knots. The last visit I had the Dr said basically we can either go with a prescription that favors near vision or far vision and you’ll need cheaters.

Something that I am thinking about doing! My eyes are not that bad, I wear glasses when I feel like it. Generally all day at work, sometimes when I’m driving (always at night), and sometimes when watching TV. I’d like to wear them more often, but I just don’t like them.

Three different times in my life I have given contacts a try for about a half year, and everytime I quit wearing them because they are so uncomfortable to me. Just feel like a piece of plastic stuck on my eye that is dry and irritating.

I wish this was an option for me. I’m fine for up close – it’s just distance that is an issue these days. My eye doctor said I would end up needing reading glasses if this was corrected with lasik. As much time as I spend in front of computer monitors I’d rather wear glasses for driving than reading glasses for work.

Exactly, the need for reading glasses wasn’t the inevitable with age but an immediate result of the surgery.

Mrs Grouse had it done 2 years ago and her only regret is not doing it sooner. You’ll love it.

Been there- 2006, best decision I ever made. Hated the glasses contacts hassle every day. Good luck and enjoy the glass-less freedom!

Had mine done back in 05 at the age of 21. Best decision ever, since then my left eye has changed just a little bit, nothen enough to have them correct it again, my right eye has stayet 20/20 which is great since it’s my dominant eye. Good luck and when you wake up the next day and you can see everything clearly, it feels awesome

I had mine done at age 21 and I’m now 37. No changes so far. The best money I’ve ever spent. My eyes were so bad that the big E on the eye chart looked like a blurry square to me. I had glasses since 1st grade. I’ll never go back.

I failed the DMV test this year, for the first time. I now have glasses, and hate them! Went from roughly 20/35 to 20/50 over the past 5 years.

Will be getting Lasik in 2016. Northwest eye clinic in Golden Valley had a special recently – 1100 per eye, 2 years free financing.

I don’t have glasses but feel that it is coming to that. I was given reading glasses in 6th grade but never wore them. I want to get my eyes checked to see if it would work for me. I don’t want to deal with glasses or contacts. I have enough in my HSA that I could pay for it. Just need to get motivated about it.

Glad it worked for you Ralph. I just don’t have the courage to let them mess with my eyes.

You’re probably risking more eating a cheeseburger every meal or walking across the street than getting lasik. It’s not that risky anymore. Every person I know that’s had it done loves it. When I did it is had been wearing glasses and contacts since 3rd grade. I was tired of it, facingo lots of expenses for new glasses etc, and having problems with dry eyes and irritation constantly. I was hoping to get rid of those problems and keep my vision which was probably around 20/25 or so with correction. After lasik I was blown away. I haven’t needed a check in 8 yrs since I did it and now I have 20/15… almost 20/10 vision. Hunting with other ppl is fun because I see everything first. Plus the details at a distance is amazing. I do lots of fly fishing and can see small dries on the surface much easier. I can see whether a bass actually grabbed the back hook of my surface lure and pulled it under at the end of a long cast… and the list goes on. I’m not bragging… just happy about the results. I had no idea the things I was missing outdoors until after surgery.

Well, I just had my day-after post-op exam. I had surgery at about 2:30 yesterday afternoon, and I am already seeing 20/15 this morning! He said that things will continue to sharpen as my eyes heal, too. Simply amazing!
