Is there any good lakes near Winnipeg (other then lake Winnipeg) that are smaller easier to access and good fishing? Just planning a trip up there for a week and might want to check out some new water if conditions are tough. Any suggestions?

Love chasing walleyes and I’ve looked into lake Manitoba. Big panfish would be a blast for a day as well as Burbot or stocked trout.
Lake Manitoba is pretty big. The heydays are gone for jumbos, but they will come back. Bots you can find in the north basin, and south basin. Or west hawk is loaded with them. You can also find decent crappie in the whiteshell system too.
