    I am going to buy a new Minnesota VX chip for a Gen4 Bird unit. Is the VX premium chip worth the extra money? What features do you like about this chip?

    Check Amazon for pricing.. In November I was able to get the premium chip for the same price as the regular vx chip so it was a noBrainerd, having the shaded relief is nice.

    Tell me about the shade3d relief.. Also does some kind of app come with it?

    Purchasing the vx chip gets you a 1 yr subscription to the one boat network app. The shaded relief is nice to display the contours and be able to see a saddle or steep break alot easier when cruising. The attached pictures are the same exact spot on Mille lacs with and without the relief on.
