I just purchased a Humminbird Helix to use as a standalone gps for my boat. I will still hook up the transducer but mainly want a full screen gps. I pulled up Fleets website and see they have 2 MN chip options. One listed as MN on sale for $100 and another listed as MN 5.0 for $125. Is one an SD version and the other a mini SD or is one just a better version and compatible with the helix.

Thanks in advance. I don’t have a computer at home and trying to research this on my phone.

The package for the $100.00 one shows that it is version 4 and the $125 one is version 5. lakeMaster updated the maps recently so that is the difference. Exactly what is different I do not know. The Helix takes a microSD chip and it appears both of these are SD chips so they will not work. Give the closest Fleet Farm a call perhaps they have the in Micro Sd format also.

I see now that the cheaper one is 4.0. Thanks

The Lakemaster site shows a version 6 as micro sd. I was just hoping they sold all versions as a micro sd with the sd adapter now. Looks like I need version 6.

Anyone know the difference between the MN Plus v1.0 and the v6.0? The MN Plus v1.0 is $20 more but should be an older version. The guy at Fleet said they just got the Plus v1.0 in the store mid February.

The Plus series are new cards that have all the data of the latest regular versions plus satellite images you can overlay on the contour map. You can see land features, inlets and outlets, supposedly weedbeds, but I’d guess water clarity would be a factor on that. I’d have to actually see it demo’d before I could say whether it’s worth $20 extra.
