I was up to the Lake of the Woods and put in a LOTW/Rainy Lake chip for more resolution. I had it freeze up my Unit a few times. Not quite what I wanted in heavy seas several miles out. Its never done it on any other chip. Is there anything that I should be doing? I was disapointed that the major features of the lake weren’t named.
I have an older (2006?) Lakemaster chip that does something similar to my Gen2 10″. My unit would restart at unpredictable times. It works fine in the Gen1 7″, however. My newer insight chip has identical contours and works fine in the Gen2.
the last updates for gen2 and newer units messed up lakemaster chips ,Thanks a lot Lowrance!!!!!!!!

If the unit is updated it no longer works with Lakemaster. Do you run a lakemaster MN chip? If so and that works there is a chance that the lotw chip is bad.
Purchase a Lowrance chip and its good for all of MN, Lotw and beyond. Same contours as Lakemaster.
