Lake Winnipeg Ice Conditions

    Hello, anyone been out to Lake Winnipeg and know how thick the ice is and how the heavens are? Thanks!

    I was just up this weekend with Blackwater Cats. Travel on the ice was not too bad. Some stuck trucks, but we could always pull each other out. Definitely travel with a couple of vehicles. I was able to get through the ice with my 40v without an extension, but just barely. I would have liked to have the extension with. We fished shallow, like 7-9 feet. Fishing was really good! Lot’s of numbers of 18-20″ eaters and several (10ish) big fish over 26″. Our groups biggest was 30″.

    You need an extension. Lots of spots with multi layers of ice.
