Heading up to Vermillion on Friday. I am staying at a cabin in Pike Bay and I am not too familiar with this lake so any tips on where to find walleyes would be much appreciated. I will have rods set up with bottom bouncers, jigs and slip bobbers so I think I will have most of the bases covered.

I would head out to the flats from where you are and try to locate them out deep. But don’t be afraid of a slip bob in shallow 6ft or less along the islands in the evening and early morning

We stay just around the corner from where you are and do very well this time of year

Get out there early in the morning and fish the reef east of Stonich Island that tops out in 15′ of water. Crawlers on plain red hooks work good.

During the day, find the deeper rock humps in Big Bay that top out around 20-25′ of water and look for shoreline points and shallow rock humps 5-10′ at sundown with slip bobbers.

Don’t be afraid to try some jigging raps either

The lead core bite should be going good if you have the gear. Lots of spots in Big Bay, use your graph to find fish in the basin. #5-7 Shad raps will put lots of fish in the boat.

#11 Berkley Flicker minnows trolled 2.5 MPH along the reefs 20′-25′ FOW should put some beauties in the boat. A 10′ mono leader is a must and be prepared to lose a few lures.
I use Berkleys mostly because they are cheap at Fleet Farm.
