I am planning on fishing at Lake Union on sunday and was wondering how much snow there is on the lake and where the public access is. Thanks for the info.
I have not been up there in a couple years, so I can’t comment on the snow cover, but i’m guessing it’s relatively light but drifted pretty good right now. Fishing has historically been good, but Sarah has produced more Walleyes for me.
The access is on the far southwest corner, near the deep hole. The best Walleye fishing on the lake is done on the middle and north end of the lake…which can be tricky getting to without ATV’s or Snowmobiles. The water level is most likely still down.
Union has very nice gills…fished it late ice almost 2yrs ago and I was very impressed…I’m a little S of there and have not been up that way but lakes around here in the Det Lakes area are drifted pretty good…but can navigate around the bad ones if you pay attention. I’d suggest an extension on the auger to be safe.
Thanks for the info guys. My boss has a house on the lake and he said all they catch in the winter is small fish. I’m not sure if they move their house around much.
