Lake Superior Trout Fishing Tips

    I was able to get out for my first time trout fishing on Lake Superior and I was able to catch and release a gorgeous 30″ Steelhead! I was able to get most of the fight on video too.

    If anyone has any tips or tricks about bait and gear i would greatly appreciate it!

    nice footage and congrats on a great fish. i must admit to having my green goggles on as in five years the north shore, i never caught anything bigger than 24″ if even that… nice fish. she must have been in post spawn.?

    I think she was still pre-spawn, she seemed to be full of eggs still!

    Its a little early yet for the spawn I think. another couple to three weeks and fish should begin getting in the rivers if there’s enough flow. The steelhead and loopers should be hanging off shore by now near river mouths. Those steelhead are a fun fish to catch.
