does anyone fish this lake during hardwater.???

i fished it with a friend this summer……..the landing in town by the park had a sign at the access warning of thin ice. just wondering how accurate that is???

it was a pretty clean clear lake when we were on it……..and holy hannah there are some fancy homes on it!!!!!

May or may not have ice fished it before whistling usually some thin ice spots due to it not freezing evenly cause of the lake depth. Can’t say I’ve spent a ton of time out there but mainly cause finding fish and catching them is a whole different game for whatever reason for me.

Vehicle traffic is not recommended on Pulaski. Most who venture out are on side by sides, wheelers and sleds. Due to the very clear water it is a well after dark bite. The lake has a large population of walleye but they are difficult to get to bite. Most spend the winter on little Pulaski fishing for crappies. And you are correct. It does have some serious money living on it’s shores.

If you live close give it a try. Lots of clear lakes have a 20min bite window so its too far for me if your only chance is for 20 min-suppose you could also go after crappies, hmmm.

i might live as far away as you do. besides i got the horseshoe chain about right out my front door……well 5 minutes away.

i’d have to fish Pulaski more then the one time i did before i’d go venture out there……and it have to be with someone who knows that lake better then me.

thats ALOT of cold water under that sheet of ice!!!!

One of the guys I lived with in college lives on that lake in a monster of a house. I’ve never fished it, but he claims to do alright out there. He had some pictures he sent of big bull gills and a couple walleyes a week or so ago.

Why are we talking about recreational watercraft in January?!
Any lake that is clear gets lots of recreational traffic, that can reduce fishing pressure, so not all bad. Where to get those ‘gills is my question.

I asked my friend and he didn’t know since they were actually on Little Pulaski.

I live nearby. Had the sleeper shack on little lake. Usually do good with crappies over there. Nothing but pike this year, and one 12″ in my photo. Spent 3 nights out there during the week after the crowd leaves. Still not much luck, moved house to 2 different spots that have always produced, sat out all day and night. So now I’m on the big lake. There is at least 20″ of ice everywhere I’ve checked. Trucks and castles out in the middle. Tracks everywhere. I’m scouting some spots with portable. In the summer, there is schools of minnows that swim under docks. Walleye are hard to catch on this lake. I caught a 7″ the other day off minnow plain hook.
