I could post this in SD forum, but there’s more traffic here. My brother and I rented a sleeper next weekend on this lake for the kids. We are using SD guide service I think?? More for the kids to experience an overnight sleeper and maybe catch fish. Anyone ever been there and have any tips? Thanks

Was there about 4 years ago and used SD Guide also. Jarred I believe was the name of the main guy. Seemed like a good group of guys. Spent one day riding around with one them punching holes all over. They worked hard, but we had a little tougher conditions. Were cut off from a 1/3 of the lake due to a ice heave and poor ice conditions. Bite was tough, but we had a good time.

Im sure Jared will get you on fish, but there is so many good lakes in the area. Ill be honest and say Poinsett would be my close to the bottom of my list for lakes to fish right now

If anybody knows the lake it’s Jared.
Overnights have been ok as of late; most of the eyes are under 13″ though, but you should put a few eaters in the bucket, and maybe some nice crappies mixed in as well.

The thing with Jarrod and his sleepers is that he will have you set up for a night/morning walleye bite. Sure you will have some fish come through during the day, but that is not what they will be set up for. I would ask him if there is any availablity for him or one of his guys to take you out during the day also, unless you have the tools to be mobile on your own. Last time we did it he had a guy that lived on the lake take us out for 1/2 the day in his Snobear.

Thanks for all the replies. We’ll have our stuff to explore the area, but mainly it’s just for kids to experience a weekend in a sleeper house and relax, with no electronics…
