I didn’t want to go off other lake Pepin forum– but is there any ice fishing action going on at Maiden Rock or Frontenac? Used to fish there few years back but haven’t lately

They’re fishing both those areas. Catching is the problem.
There’s not much going on from I’ve heard.

Try it, you may find some luck. I certainly wouldn’t not go based on a lack of posting.

Hit or miss , best time for me is the last hour or so of daylight . Use caution looked like someone went through the ice got the point all staked off last time i was there

I’ve been out twice this year in that area. The occasional roaming perch or short sauger are really all we’ve come across. The area is so expansive that there is very little structure that holds fish in large numbers (hence the popularity of trolling in Summer). Even if you think there’s a numerical depth or breakline to target, they extend for miles in each direction.

Best of luck. You never know until you try. Use extreme caution by points. Even if lateral current seems minuscule in a spot during the Summer, it’s the vertical churning at the points that creates weak spots.
