I’ve been out twice this year in that area. The occasional roaming perch or short sauger are really all we’ve come across. The area is so expansive that there is very little structure that holds fish in large numbers (hence the popularity of trolling in Summer). Even if you think there’s a numerical depth or breakline to target, they extend for miles in each direction.
Best of luck. You never know until you try. Use extreme caution by points. Even if lateral current seems minuscule in a spot during the Summer, it’s the vertical churning at the points that creates weak spots.
