A 51″ pike? We’ve seen some mid-40″ fish firsthand and pictures of upper 40″ gators from Lake of the Woods that were truly massive. A 51″ pike would be something special indeed! And it sounds like the walleye fishing is very strong right now as well. – The Hound

Down rigging and pulling spinners effective this week with lots of trophy walleyes in the mix. Good eater fish north of Garden Island around Crow Duck Island and Glen’s Reef 16-22 feet and the West Bar in 14-22′ pulling spinners. Western reefs such as Archie’s starting to heat up. Good walleyes this week in the Lighthouse Gap in 15-20′ and 6 miles out from gap. Hot blade colors are hammered gold and silver baited with crawlers. Down riggers effective in 30-34 feet using Shad Raps, Wally Divers, and Reef Runners. Clown, pink UV and black the ticket.
Up at the NW Angle, north of Garden Island, Little Oak and Four Blocks producing in 19-24 feet bringing in a good mix of fish. 51″ pike caught on charter while walleye fishing. Good Muskie reports from Canadian waters, shallow, 10 feet or less in weed beds along shore. Bucktails and cowgirls effective.
