Headed up Sunday to Long Point resort with a forecast of 5-10 mph winds for 3 days. Couldn’t believe how wrong the forecast was. We went out 5-7 miles for the evening and got 6 with crawlers. What a wet ride back. Monday morning the same with fairly slow fishing but managed to get 11 eaters and one 27.5″. Winds calmed as the day went along. Tuesday we vowed to not go back to where ll the charters were and struck off trolling about 3 miles off the resort and went east. Good decision,…25 fish by 1:00pm departure time. 16 over 20″, most over 25 going up to 29″. Blue silver orange husky jerks is what they wanted. A bonus 14 lb northern to boot. I heard from others that their summer has been good when the weather allows you to get out. As before, the Resort was great with clean well kept cabins and a great location.
