Got out for a morning trip with Nate Kaminsky (eyecatchum) and another friend on Sunday. Lake was pretty flat so turned left out of the north gap and ran about 8 miles before setting gear. Fished anywhere from 60 to 190. Best concentrations of fish seemed to be in 150. Still cold water everywhere. 52 surface temp and 39 down 25′. We ended up going 11 for 15. 1 lake trout (released), 1 rainbow, 1 coho, 8 kings. The Coho looked to be a 4 year old fish but the kings were mostly 3 and 2 year olds. Everything produced fish. We had fish on riggers, dipsys, copper, and lead core. Fish were caught on flasher fly, spoons, brads run naked and behind flashers. Another fun day on the big pond and much better numbers than my previous trip that produced mostly lake trout. Only took one picture.

Didn’t take the picture upload the first time. That was about the average size of the three year olds.

Sounds like a great trip and maybe good news for the upcoming IDO Salmon GTG.

    Thanks for the report!

Yes, it sounds like the bite was pretty good for a lot of boats on Sunday. Should just keep getting better as we get closer to the GTG.

Awsome! I knew I should have hooked up the boat and headed out Sunday, but after a week on the road, there was just too much catching up to be done at home!

    I hope it keeps improving!

Good to see a positive report from the Milwaukee area. Gives me hope that things are improving.
IDO GTG’s have a long & notorious history. I would like nothing better than to see that come to an end at the GTG later this month.

Thanks again for inviting me to come on your boat John! That thing is one bad machine… Glad we were able to get on some fish, and like you said, there were some other very positive reports from the weekend. Heres to hoping the bite keeps improving until the GTG!!!

Great report to keep us all ‘jacked’ for the GTG….
Nice picture. I’d take those all day….
Hope a true pattern starts to develop by the GTG to put everyone on some of those beauties… )
