Recently moved to the area. I am setup to troll lake Koshkonong and am curious at where to start on this vast body of water. Looking for mainly walleyes. I’m assuming most of this fishing is based off what bit of structure the lake might have. If anyone has any advice or tips I would be more than willing to bring you out on my boat and we can troll for a day!

Welcome to In-Depth. I have never heard of the lake but I’m sure somebody here has fished it.

Koshkonong is a very shallow lake and 1′ contour can really make a significant difference. I go down and hit the Rock once in awhile since its so close to my house. But I had fished it hard back in the 80’s. Some things don’t change much. Schools cruise the vast flats. Learn where the bottom composition changes and follow that. The limited structure gets hammered pretty hard because most guys can only fish what they see. There more fish out and away from those spots.

Follow the Rock River crowd of guys and you will learn a lot about this body of water
