So I am thinking of heading out tonight around 10pm for some channel catfish at Crooked lake. Never really done this in a lake before. Just looking for some CPR. How should i target these fish? I heard the outside weed edge after dark 12′ is a good place to start.

Should i fish the bottom or will they follow the scent? Id like to take it easy with a bobber with possibly some liver or smashed fatheads. but if the bottom is a better option ill def go that route.

Should i rely on my sonar and look for large arcs or schools or are they going to be spread out already?

Slip bobber 6″-1′ off bottom is a really good method for lakes. Or u could drift around vertically. Pretty much like walleye fishin. Let’s u cover more ground and once u narrow dwn a spot then u can anchor up on them. Either bait should wrk well for ya. Good luck and let’s us know how u do.
