One thing seems for certain after reading all these posts. Everyone is different and there are lots of reasons and solutions. Interesting post.

Your league-leading ability to get in touch with your feminine side may, to some, seem like an albatross around your otherwise-manly neck, but in the IDOCMR algorithm, that actually boosts your score. Just like the New Man emerged from the 1960s more aware and in touch with his feelings, you ARE the IDO New-New Man. You fish. You’ve got the total Grizzly Adams beard going on. You throw axes. You wear flannel. You can think more like a woman than the average woman. You’re basically running the IDOCMR table.

But mostly it all comes down to the fact that you don’t fish in yoga pants. Keep on keepin on

Well know I will sleep better for sure! I was thinking about hitting Matt up to see about hitting the river together to get some pointers but now I may have to reconsider. Sorry Matt I’m sure you look great in them. mrgreen

Well I am going to have nightmares tonight. Matt bending over in IDO yoga pants and you can guess where the crosshairs are. I did check the store and they don’t have them.

If I wear camo crocs with socks along with the yoga pants does that help at all?

It would be a step in the right direction, maybe if you throw on a blaze orange hoodie too.

How many hours of sleep are you getting?

i dont have any sort of sleep tracker device but id say on average im getting between 4-6 hours a night. id prefer something in the 6-8 range.

I’d say same for me starting in my 40’s. (59 now) 4-6 hours and I’m good to go next day. Rack it up to getting old….er.

    Trust me, that doesn’t work.
I can drink me a jug of brown liquor hoping to sleep through the night. Nope.

Look up life medical in the metro. You need thc to help you out. Melatonin and cbd won’t cut it. Tom Bernard of kqrs has talked plenty about how this helped him. The thc is not in large intoxicating amounts.
Eat healthy, exercise and thc will have you sleeping all night. Anxiety and worrying will be a thing of the past.

As others mentioned – a sleep study will tell you lots.

Also as said, limit the amount of “screen” light about 75min before you want to fall asleep. Light hitting your eyes suppresses your melatonin secretion because we were designed to wake with the sun back in the day. Falling asleep with a book and small reading light is better than a phone. When you get up to go pee do not turn on the lights. If you want the best chance of falling back asleep, feel around in the dark or super dim light, sit to pee if you have to. You could also try loading your water drinking to earlier in the day if you are trying to reach an intake goal.

Finally, are you sure you are not getting enough sleep? A sleep study questionnaire will ask about “impairment” resulting from sleep disturbance (falling asleep driving/doing tasks, needing naps, feeling tired, concentration, etc). You might just be going to bed too early and waking up at 3 when you are rested. My wife needs a solid 9hrs and I was trying to fall asleep with her for a while and waking at 3 – turns out I just don’t need as much sleep so I go to bed 2-3hrs later than her.

Stress and anxiety is another common cause that can be more complex to treat.

I’m not sure who I trust less with medical advice, Tom Bernard or the IDO peanut gallery.

A lot of good information, especially Tindall with how much sleep do you actually need. 8 hours may be the average but that means some people need 9 or 7 or 10 or 6. Last year I had a check up for my sleep apnea and I told the doc I was waking up at ~3:00, going to the bathroom (been doing this for 30 years) but now was having trouble getting back to sleep. He referred me to a psychologist that specializes in sleep issues. He had me chart when I went to bed, each time I woke up, how long it took to get back to sleep, when I woke up and got out of bed. Also if I napped or nodded off watching TV in the evening. He said if you get sleepy enough so your head bobs or you notice your eyes are closed that signals your body that’s the start of your sleep. That might mean you wake up at 3:00-4:00 in the morning and can’t get back to sleep. I found out I don’t need 8 hours, more like 6:00-6:30. I’ve learned since then about what I consume in the evening will also influence how well I sleep. Minimizing caffeinated pop and simple carbs screw up my sleep. There are several nights that I sleep 7+ hours now.

A sleep study or some Weed, you have too much to think about, things can get crazy. For about a year I woke up at 2:38 every damn morning, CPAP is great when you sleeping, but they sure are harder to get to sleep with one . At least for me. DK

I’ve had a CPap for going on over 25 years and and I’m getting ready to get my 3rd machine. I agree I do believe it has saved my life !

When I had my knees replaced the nurses would come into my room and tell me to “put your mask on!” Yes I am a shallow breather when dozing off. I am a swimmer and a good one BUT, a shallow breather. My blood oxygen levels are very subpar for supporting anything that the brain would need to be healthy.

You should go to a doc and get a sleep study done. You may have sleep apnea or something else going on. I had one in 2016 and have been using a CPAP since. Definitely an improvement but since then I have not had bronchitis and only a couple of colds. I did get pneumonia once during that time (don’t know where that came from) and thought it was a heart attack. In my sleep study I had no issues when sleeping on my right side but if I sleep on my left side, many episodes per hour. Untreated apnea can lead to more serious health issues. The cause of my apnea is probably being overweight but the doc said normal weight people can have it too.
