Hi all, just curious if anyone has the VX chip for lac suel and could attest to the quality of the contour map? Have a trip planned in May and wondering if it would be worth having vs getting the maps thru Garmin. Thanks in advance )

Z-man staying on a house boat with some buddies. They had an opening and were gracious enough to invite me along for a once in a lifetime trip. And supercat thank you for the info. Current maps do not look super impressive

I fished Lac Suel back in the 80’s. t that time it was a great fishery for Musky’s. Back then most people going there were doing so for the musky fishing. Seems like mostly these days the talk is mostly about the walleye fishing. Did the musky fishing fall off or did the walleye fishing just get better?

the Navionics card is quite good for more detailed contours. there are still some areas that it’s not wholly accurate, but it’s plenty good for keeping your boat out of trouble and giving you a decent picture of the structure. in our key fishing areas i make use of AutoChart. (i’m running Helix units)

i got mine off Amazon for $130 back in February, it’s currently only $105.

Fishthumper…the area around Chamberlain narrows has been known for its musky fishing, in addition to walleye of course. We actually targeted musky in Wapesi (??) lake some years ago, and saw and caught a few, including one at 51 inches. I’m sure there are skis elsewhere in the system, as we’ve had incidental catches now and then while walleye jigging or throwing spoons for Pike, but if I were targeting them, I’d head to Wapesi.
