Looking for suggestions for a long Labor Day weekend (5 day) fishing trip. Some friends and I are open to any an all suggestions as this is our back-up to our back up plan as we did not draw hunting tags this year. Target species would be 1(a). walleye, 1(b). big pike, and 3. bass. Canada is an option, in fact Lac de Mille Lacs has been suggested by some co-workers. Has anyone fished this lake before?? We have no reference to fishing the Labor Day time period. How should the bite be for northern MN or Canada? Any and all help would be appreciated! Thanks in advance!!

LOTW. Might have the best of all 3 of those species. Plus lots of willing muskies.

I’m on the record wishing that I could do big pike without crossing the Canadian border. I think you’re talking Ontario for all three. Walleye and just bass might leave you more options a little closer to home.

LOTW, Rainy, or others north of there. Lots of great choices. Sorry, not familiar with Lac de Mille Lacs

I’m going on a similar trip w/ some buddies this weekend on a Rainy Lake Houseboat. Rainy definitely has those 3 species in abundance! I’ve never gone that time of year, and primarily walleye fish. But the views and solitude don’t disappoint!

I would agree LOTW would be a great option although I don’t hear much about bass. I do know where all three are found including big pike would be Vermilion. Either the Cook side or the Tower side has all plus bonus muskie. Beautiful scenery as well!

Took a Rainy Lake HB trip half dozen years ago. Arrived day after Labor Day. Stayed 5 days. Walleye fishing was lights out great. Didn’t fish pike and fished smallies only a little.

LOTW has all but to get into the bass you’ll need to go to the Ontario side or up to the NW angle if you want to stay in MN
