Labeling rods ?

Does anyone have a good way of keeping track of what line is on what rod. Take these two for example. One has 18 pound leadcore and twenty pound braid and mono. Other has 27 pound leadcore and thirty pound braid and forty pound mono. My ice rods have a plethora of different lines to find what works best but then I forget what’s on what! Maybe some kind of tag or something to keep them straight! Any ideas appreciated! Thanks

I use a Dymo label maker to mark all of my reels.

You can stick it right to the side of a baitcaster/trolling reel or hide a label under the reel seat if you want.

Thanks, looks like there is a few options from that company.

I number my reels and I used to keep a list of what they were spooled with in a notebook. Now I have it in the notes on my phone.

That’s what I was thinking, number them and write down somewhere. Thanks

You can put a sticker on the butt of the rod and write it on the sticker as well.

I use different colored rod sleeves for each application. Then it’s easy to look in the rod locker and grab rods with a red sleeve knowing they all have 18lb lead core on them or blue having mono etc.

Black or silver Sharie. I label weight and year on the inside cup of the spool on my spinning reels. I label my casting reels on the bottom of the reel seat. Doesn’t wear off there. I label weight on the outsides too but sometimes it rubs off. Both can be removed with some denatured alcohol or even some hand sanitizer.

I put it on a piece of masking tape under the reel seat. I do have a Dymo labeler–maybe I should go that route.

I fish in a multi species league and have quite a few rods. Knowing line is important to me, especially age and # of braids. This works great!
