Anyone else watching the coverage on this? They aren’t even trying to put out the fires at this point. The wind is too strong and the fire is moving too fast. And, the winds are expected to increase overnight.

    Could be some epic destruction.

Pretty crazy. I heard upwards of 100mph wind gusts! Saw video of the dozer clearing the street of cars. Hope those that need to get out can.

a couple blizzards, ice, and maybe some hail are all OK in my book. Beautiful area, but I wouldn’t live out there if you paid me to – and you’d have to because I can’t afford it. Hope everyone gets out safe, I would hate to live under the threat of something like that every year, let alone the anticipation of “the Big One.”

They are better off letting it burn at this point as long as they can get people out. It really sucks, but this has been going on for how long now and you cannot stop it or at least they havent been able to thus far.

We spend a week every February in Palm Springs California and although that’s a couple hours East of LA, it’s pretty easy to see how fires in the area would get out of control in a hurry. Those dry winds are persistent for days on end.

Last year we did do a 2 day side run to LA and some of the areas just NW of the city that are now being impacted. There are some absolutely beautiful places out there that I’m sure won’t look the same again in my lifetime.

Yeah, sounds like the Pasedena area is getting hit pretty hard. Every time I watch the Rose Bowl it just looks like paradise. LA is a dump, but go a valley or two over and it’s incredible.
