Ma and I were tossing around what to do for dinner tonight and decided to try one of the whole chickens that kwik trip offers, rotisserie style. We had an app discount and picked one up for $3.99. Getting it home I split if in half so we’ve got it again for tomorrow’s dinner and all I can say about it is that it’s pretty darned good. Along with potato salad made from some new red-skins, fresh green beans, cukes in vinegar this chicken made a great meal.

We’ve tried the fried chicken from there as well and thought it to be on par with KFC’s.

As a rule we do our own chicken but at the prices we find at some of the grocery stores and now KT for the roasted chicken, and then this wonderful heat, its hard not to be lazy and try some of this.

Anyone tried this rotisserie chicken at KT yet? Or the fried? What did you think?

Haven’t had the rottessorie chicken yet but I’ve had the fried chicken and the fried chicken strips and I think there excellent.

You can buy the cold stuff in the cooler cheaper and take it home and re heat it also and is still pretty good.

There chicken both fried and rotisserie are really good. I buy the fried chicken and throw it in the fridge to have cold chicken for work lunches. Always good prices. They also have pre seasoned taco meat for 2.99 a pound. Really good deal

Game hen sprinkled with famous Dave’s chicken dry rub rotisseried In the air fryer matches about anything I’ve had.

My favorite came from the old quik n easy store in excelsior, that was 40 some years ago… think they were called wonder roast.

cut the carbs not the fat. rotisserie much better than breaded and fried. I prefer crispy skin vs. breaded any day.

I work in la crosse and seems like there’s a kt on every corner.

That would probably be because Kwik Trip is headquartered in La Crosse, since even back when G. Heileman was still brewing Old Style (Dog Style) and Special Export in good old La X.

Similar to other regional gas/convenience such as Holiday Station Stores (which have their own unique history as Erickson Oil) in the TC and surrounding region as well as PDQ Stores around Madison and Dane County which Kwik Trip recently purchased. That’s when/where they picked up the in-store fried chicken.

How many times have such convenience stores provided everything you need to get through the day or night?

    Countless!

I wish there were more KT around metro! When we go fishing, my kids would rather stop there than fast food restaurants

KT is an absolute gold mine! They have a great business model that I can tell. I stop every morning for coffee on my way to work and the staff knows me by name. Great to support a company from the homeland.

Ahhh rotisserie chicken from KT or in our case most of the time Jordan’s Meats in Lakeland when they had it.

One good meal and the rest was deboned and mixed with ranch dressing for an awesome sandwich or three the next day or two.

One of life’s little golden moments.

I will agree that their chicken is good. But I think their mac-n-cheese is better. Grab both and some fresh rolls and you have a cheap good meal. With KT getting fresh donuts every day they also get fresh bread and you can’t beat their prices on bananas. Not to mention the convenience. Also try the egg rolls.

Not to derail your thread Tom , but kt is also a big employer in my community of la crosse. Not only there store employees, but they have facilities where they make alot of there foods . Big expansion in the production facility going on right now , all the trades involved. Lots of my union brothers have been working there all summer .

I usually end up having an egg roll and a sweet tea at some point of my day, more days than not. Also Tuesdays BBQ rib sandwich special for $1.49 is also good. Load it up with onions, jalapeños, and extra BBQ sauce. They blitz kreig’d the St. Cloud area a couple years ago. Popped up all over town in the matter of 2 years. Pretty much kept a whole crew busy running gas and electric to them at my place of work.

I love KT too, but hadn’t had their chicken until tonight. They just started offering it at one of the local KT’s. Thought it was pretty tasty and surprisingly super juicy, but it was super salty and I’ve been chugging water all night.

    Also try the egg rolls.

And their Corndogs! They occasionally have a pancake batter sausage corndog as well. Amazing!

I typically have their chicken tender melt for lunch, they are excellent!

Love KT and that they’re family owned! Some of the grandchildren of the owner Don Zietlow grew up here in Rochester, they were each given at least one store here in town to operate.

They also have amazing bonuses and something like 40% profit sharing.

I had to stop going there in the morning however, those Cherry fritters were hitting me hard!
