After years of using the improved clinch and palomar I have learned the modified uni knot (twice thru the eye and 10 twists) tested best for braid to snap/hook/terminal tackle.

It is also the knot recommended in the powerpro manual… http://www.powerpro.com/content/powerpro/northamerica/us/en/homepage/TIE_A_KNOT.html

I have been searching for an Android knot tying app that includes the modified uni. knot but have not found one.
Anyone know of an app with this knot?

    Dumb question here.

If you’ve learned how to tie the knot, why do you need an app to tie it?

I had an app that I think was called knot wars or something that was based off that segment. I don’t think it’s supported any more though. Once I learned what the best knots were, I didn’t need it anymore anyways.

    Dumb question #2 here….
What would lead you away from the palomar knot to the modified uni knot for braid? The palomar has to be one of the easiest to tie and seems to be rated near the top in the various knot strength tests.
